I purchased this necklace on december 23rd, 2009. I've had it for exactly one year, and believe I have some information about the piece that may affect one's choice to buy it. The chord cracked for me, and I re-stringed it on a length of black satin. I like this much better. The silver of the beads actually will tarnish, and it is evident there is a silver paint on them. It took nine months for this to happen, and once it was completely bare, it revealed a dull golden that I like even better than the silver above it. The metal coils and dragon itself stay bright silver, and they have not chipped, scratched, or broken even though it has been everywhere with me and at times mistreated. It will not suffer water damage, or rust. Overall, this is my favorite piece of jewelry I own, placed above a sterling silver emerald pendant and black onyx and gold ring. I would say if you're happy with the above conditions, there isn't a thing wrong with it. It's a bit larger than a nickle, and rests with balance when you wear it.
