I purchased this hat while at the county fair, and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I am constantly recommending this hat to everyone I know. Living in San Diego, I have owned so many sun hats, and this one is my favorite. I am getting rid of all my others because I never wear them anymore.
This hat is UPF 50, has a nice wide brim to completely shade your face, and actually keeps your head cooler because it keeps the sun off the top of your head (vents on the sides help as well). It has a chin strap with a cord lock to keep it on your head when it is windy, and it's adjustable in the back to make it fit your head perfectly. The fabric is ultralight, so it barely feels like you have anything on. This hat packs flat in your suitcase easily, and you can hand wash it.
I am more conscious now of protecting my face from sun damage, and this hat totally does the trick! I have one at home and one at work.

The front full crescent 4-inch brim extends around the side of the head, tapering over the ears and overlapping the 5-inch rear neck veil. The result equals excellent face and back of the neck UV protection, in a style suitable for active kids and adults. Ponytails may extend through sizing hole in rear. Made of lightweight water-resistant supplex fabric, blocks UVA and UVB rays, rated 50 UPF (ultra violet protection factor). Cold water wash by hand, hang to dry.
