I bought these right before spending a month on the road. I travel light and usually only carry 2-3 pairs of socks. These socks were excellent additions to my travel wardrobe. They provide good support for all-day walking and usually do dry overnight (or can be quickly dried with a hairdryer). Now I'm buying some more to use at home.

Tilley Endurables, Inc. story begins in 1980. A man, named Alex Tilley, needed a sailing hat to go with his sailboat. This man had tenderly and lovingly restored his sailboat. When it came time for him to go for a sail, he realized that none of his hats could match the quality that he expected in a hat. He and his family began making hats and finally came up with the Tilley hat. Word of mouth spread and people began showing up at his house to purchase these hats. With the success of the hats, Tilley wanted to have proper sailing shorts. He began his quest for the right material to manufacture the shorts. Tilley also saw the need for a security pocket in the shorts. Sometimes you need to wash your clothes in a hotel sink and wear them the next morning. Tilley Endurables clothing is easy to clean.
