Apparel reviews of Totes Titanium Auto-Open/Close UmbrellaCustomer Review: all right by me !!! Rating: 5 Stars
This rather large umbrella by Totes really comes in handy whenever it's raining. It also protects you against light snow and sleet. It's particularly strong and durable; and therefore this umbrella is well worth every single penny you'll pay for it. In addition to the traditional black it also comes in a bluish color or tan. Great!
The one touch button for opening and closing is easy to operate and it hasn't malfunctioned yet! This has been the umbrella I have used for quite some while now and I'm perfectly satisfied. You might think that the polyester fabric would be poorly made; but it's just the opposite. This is built to last, especially with those titanium braces; and the fabric just plain feels good! If it does turn inside out in high winds, you'll be able to turn it back in without any difficulty.
If you need anything else to make you feel comfortable about getting this umbrella, Totes actually does give you a lifetime warranty along with your umbrella. You can't beat that. Totes has an excellent reputation; and obviously they're intent on keeping it that way.
I highly recommend this fine umbrella from Totes. You can use it year round if you need to do so; it'll last forever. The lifetime warranty insures it, too! Great!
Customer Review: Perfect! Rating: 5 Stars
This is my first ever Totes umbrella. Since I live in LA and it rarely rains here, I never needed one. But recently, the weather has been fluctuating a lot over here and thus I had to get this.
The umbrella is of perfect size for one person. I am sure it cannot protect me from very heavy rains but it does the job for the LA rains. When folded, the size is good enough to fit into small bags and I just hold it with me and carry it if needed to.
The umbrella button can only control the two springs. So, on pressing the button, the tube does not re-tract by itself. It has to be manually pulled down to close it completely. But it makes the job easier when going in and out of the car.
So far, the stretcher and fabric seem to be of a high quality and I do not have any complaints with it.
Customer Review: Totes are the best Umbrellas. Rating: 5 Stars
I would always buy cheap umbrellas for a few dollars and they would give out within a few weeks. I have used a $20 totes umbrella for years under high winds and pouring rain and it withstood it all. It comes with a lifetime warranty, and I know plenty of people who have been using a totes umbrella for a decade or more. To add to this, it is very small and easy to carry around, but can fit two full-sized adults with room to spare. The pushbutton opens and closes the umbrella with ease too. It is quite expensive for an umbrella, but well worth it.
Customer Review: Excellent Design With Room For Improvement Rating: 4 Stars
Overall I'm very happy with this umbrella. It folds up nice and compactly. To operate, you press the button and it expands the pole and opens the canopy. Press the button again and the canopy compresses; from there you need to push down the pole for it to be completely folded. It's a very simple design and it's nice that it open and closes quickly, which makes getting in and out of buildings/cars that much easier. The case it comes with is nice for storage or putting it down in a dry environment without getting things wet.
I can only give this product four stars however because there is room for improvement. The canopy is not quite as strong as I'd like it to be. It's adequate for heavy downpours, but any amount of wind and you're going to wish you had something sturdier. I have not had the canopy fold up on me, but I feel like I have to protect it from winds in order to keep it from doing so.
Case in point: for pure rain, this is an excellent umbrella, but if you're going to be dealing with wind and rain, you might want something sturdier (and therefore perhaps bulkier).
Customer Review: A quintessentially modern umbrella Rating: 4 Stars
First impressions: The auto-open/close button is pretty cool. The only non-automatic thing you have to do is push the umbrella into its collapsed position, and wrap the ribbon around it. (If only there were a mechanism that could do that for you! But this is a flaw shared by every umbrella I've ever encountered.) The hood of the umbrella is both light and durable. I'm really pleased at how portable the collapsed umbrella is.
The handle does, however, have a slightly flimsy feel. When the wind blows, the connector rod rattles. I'm not worried about it breaking, but it's aesthetically disappointing. This isn't a problem that you'd have with a classic umbrella, like a GustBuster. But those are non-collapsible. I bought this after losing my GustBuster, and I'm quite pleased with the switch overall. Sure, the Totes doesn't look as classy as a large umbrella with a wooden handle, but it has a good mix of modernity and portability at a reasonable price.
