This is exactly what I was looking for - lightweight enough to pack and accurate enough. The tape measure is only long enough to check the size of carry-on luggage. So if you really need a tape measure to measure checked suitcases, it won't do the job.Customer Review: Great for peace of mind

We three traveled to Southeast Asia in December and used this product for a total of four flights. Since weight limits varied from airline to airline, this was particularly handy in helping us pack and to distribute our "stuff" among our baggage within those limits. No worries waiting on line for our tickets, and no "emergency" repacking to get our luggage on board. I purchased one of these hand held luggage scales at a local store when I traveled to Europe last year. My husband is always skeptical of my "gadgets" that I buy ------ but when we used this one he was very impressed!
Our son is stationed in Europe and he liked the scale so much, he convinced me to let him keep it (what mother could say no?) We have another flight trip coming up soon for us. The airlines have become so strict in the regulations and penalties for the weight and size of luggage. MY HUSBAND insisted that we get another hand held luggage scale.
The local store no longer had them so I researched on line and Amazon offered the very best price for this wonderful product.
It is great and it packs away into the suitcase with no problem. I suggest anyone who travels by air should get one of these ----- you it is a worthy investment and amazon offers it at an excellent price. Thank you Amazon

This tool is very useful and accurate as I used it to weigh my luggage before going on my trip and before coming back. I left it for my father to use it as he travels a lot and I'll buy another one on my next trip. If you use it the right way as instructed by lifting your luggage slowly, the weight you get at home is what you see at the airport's check-in scale, thus avoiding extra weight charges. Great value for an accurate tool that saves you money at the airport. Thanks!!!
