I have just returned to Spain from the USA and found that the correlation between between this instrument and two sets of airport scales was within plus or minus 0.1 Kg ( 0.22 lb ). The only problem I found was that it is difficult to reset the scales without getting a false reading for the next lift, fortunatly the false reading is obvious. In spite of the reviews saying it is not accurate, I found it very consistent and accurate. It takes some muscle to lift a 50 - 70 pound suitcase hanging down from it but that is not the faulf to the scale. When lifting, holding it steady, not letting it swing will give consistent and accurate readings. I took it on a trip to europe where we took a lot of goodies for relatives and brought back a lot of wine and other purchases so it was very much needed and helpful, especially giving weight in either pounds or kilos. It works as advertised and came in really handy on our recent European trip. You attach it to the luggage handle and then hold it up off the ground until it beeps. Yo get the weight in metric or pounds. Excellent addition to my travel gadgets.Customer Review: Gift for My Son

My son is working out of town and the job requires him to fly. Of course his luggage can only weigh a certain amount. I saw these scales and I read the reviews, and I bought them. He was very glad to receive them and I think he will be very glad he has them when he has to fly again.
I would recommend these scales to others.

I purchased this because we were traveling for 3 weeks with alot luggage(8 bags).It seems one is always over weight. It work great for the first 2 weeks with out a problem, HOWEVER in the 3rd WEEK IT JAM AND THE ONLY WAY TO UNJAM IT WAS TO TAKE OUT THE BATTERY. This happen a couple times after that,unfortunately we are home and won't be traveling for a couple more months. I will keep you up to date.
UPDATE: 9/1/2009 As of this date we recently used it again and it it work GREAT with no problems
