I wear Hi-Tech Altitude 4 boots. They are true to their reviews which is a a great boot but a little warm. These socks go very good with these boots, keeping my feet dry and well cushioned on a 5 day backpacking trip. I carry a 40 pound pack and we average about 8 miles a day with our scout troop. These are socks are lower priced than most others and seem for me, perfect for a mid-temp backpacking trip. I can't say for sure if I would use them on a Southwest desert trip, but I am not sure I would wear the same boots either.Customer Review: best socks ever

i bought 10 pairs of these socks about 10 years ago. after a while they were my only socks (everything else had worn out). I work out rigorously on a daily basis and only wear these socks. If you are serrious about comfortable, durable, high quality socks that last forever, consider nothing else, these are the socks you want.Customer Review: Works for me

I use them for work socks. I have sweaty feet. I wear steel toed boots. They work better then cotten socks for keeping my feet dry.Customer Review: Disappointing

If you like thickly cushioned socks, like the thickest Thorlos, these are not for you. They are not nearly as cushioned.
Also, unless you have calves the size of twigs, they are not going to be comfortable. I wear an 11-1/2 wide shoe and I'm a big guy. Thorlos XL fits fine; these are so narrow at the top that they are impossible for anyone of even average size to wear them pulled up as high as shown in the photo.
Other comments -- Delivery was very fast; price is way too high.
