Apparel reviews of Yaktrax Pro Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice

Customer Review: great traction
Rating: 4 Stars

I live in New Hampshire and we have a lot of snow followed by melt, ice, snow. The yak trax are pretty easy to get on. They stay on well. They're easy to store. I wouldn't get them if I had weak or really arthritic hands because it does take some strength to pull on. Otherwise, I love being able to walk at full speed and not have to slow down just because it's icy out.

Customer Review: Great for limited use!
Rating: 3 Stars

I used 3 sets of these during my time in the mountains of Afghanistan and my review my be of a slightly skewed opinion due to the ruggedness of the area. In an urban, city-scape these worked rather brilliantly walking over the ice of the city streets or to-and-from our trucks. I never once felt like I was still slipping or sliding, while others nearby continued to skid across the 5 inches of ice.
However, if worn on some of the basic trails or even some of the mild mountain slopes, the YAKTRAXs very quickly became worn out and broke. Additionally, after a week of wearing the YAKTRAXs just around the villages on the roads, they became unserviceable. The only noticeable breaking point was the rubber which holds the spiral wire in place which provide the traction. Simply put while providing antiquate traction, the durability of the designs to be greatly lacking.

Bottom line: I would recommend these to anyone looking for a basic pair of ice shoes but would highly recommend buying them 2 pairs at a time.

Customer Review: yaktrax

These make winter walking a pleasure. Give you a secure feeling and allow you to really stride. We walk a lot in the evenings on snowy downtown streets and often stop for tea/coffee so if you go inside any building with tile floors, be careful as they are slippery. No problem with carpets and they do not damage the carpet/floor the way ice cleats do.

Customer Review: These are not like my first pair
Rating: 3 Stars

This is my 3rd pair of Yaktrax- I use them for walking in winter. I walk about 4 miles per day. I have not had to use them too often this winter, but they are already falling apart. The metal pieces have popped away from the bottom of my shoe, and although I can re-shape the loops to fit around the original rubber, it doesn't seem that should be necessary after such a short period of time.

Customer Review: Great product!

Love this product! They are comfortable to walk on, easy to put on and make walking during the icy winter months possible. Highly recommend them.
