This is my first iphone and subsequently my first case for it BUT I played with many people's iphones before deciding that it was the phone for me. The ONE thing I didn't like about their phones was the cases they chose. Nearly everyone had a silicone case and some with a polycarbonate holder on top of it. They made the phone so FAT and basically took away the sleek sexy look of the iphone. I wanted a case that would ADD to my phone's looks as well as protect and make the phone less slippery. I chose the soft feeling red (red is my signature color) and I absolutely LOVE it. The phone is still very thin and looks GREAT. The soft feeling case feels great in my hands. I'm not sure I'd like the shiny covers tho. Think I'll stick with the soft feeling colors for future purchases. I did not go with the Elago screen protector tho because I am a die hard body guardz fan and every phone I have will have one of these screen shields. They are absolutely the best.
UPDATE ON 5/20/10: Still love the case...have it back on my phone after buying a case crown one and having issues with it. It was a two part case and it bubbled my screen protector...NOT the body guardz...a glare free one that I HATE now. The body guardz was GREAT...but too much glare. I bought the ones from the AT&T store...HATE it...corners peel and the case crown case fit over the bottom corners and bubbled the protector...basically ruining it. I'll re-install my 2nd body guardz and live with the glare. Screen guardz has a glare free one and may try that but not sure it will be any better than what I have. Anyhow..back to the case. My only complaint is that the soft feel that I initially loved...PEELS...ugh. Looks kinda like a peeling sunburn. Anyhow. Elago now has a S3 model out that I am ordering...not soft feel tho. I'll review those.
