I did some research online for toys that might appeal to children ages six and up. I came across the Hasbro Transformers Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet, and honestly thought it sounded too good to be true. I almost missed out on the great price, but managed to find the helmet at a local Target a few weeks before Christmas.
The helmet was a HUGE hit with my six year old nephew and his dad. They both loved it. My nephew's eyes lit up when he realized that he could actually change or modify his voice as well. That alone was worth the purchase.
A great product! Found it a good price before it became a hot holiday item for kids. It is adjustable - it fit my nephew's head and his dad's as well. It came with batteries, and worked! Great gift for boys and girls, and I must admit even I wanted one as well.

My son who is only 3 got this for Xmas. He is thrilled with it. He thinks he is a power ranger. The echoing strange robotic voice that comes out when he talks is GREAT!!
My only complaints are that the back top piece..that is suppose to snap off for head adjustment keeps falling off, due to my sons throwing the helmet off at times. I think with an older child this may not happen. It doesn't really affect the toy even with it off.
Also the microphone is sensitive! It sometimes picks up my voice when I am next to him....maybe this means I am too loud.
Overall a GREAT toy. Highly recommended! LOVE IT!!

with three masks on the market (Excluding batman) Ironman, Optimus and Darth vader, this mask rules them all. It almost looks like the Rocketeer mask as well! its a full helmet it covers everything. You can even use your imagination and be Tom from Toonami! this is a cool toy as it has Peter Cullens voice edition and not that stupid beast wars voice get that one for I have that one. I bought this for my 4 year old nephew who absolutely adores transformers and he loved this helmet. I was impressed by the space in the helmet so there is no chance of your child's head getting stuck or anything. Visibility through the helmet is great as well so there is no chance of children running into objects to hurt themselves due to lack of visibility. The voice changer is also a very cool feature. If the child that you are buying this for is a fan of transformers, then they will love this toy!Customer Review: Absolutely Awesome Helmet

Unlike the Darth Vader helmet (which I also own) this actually takes your voice and converts it, so you mainly hear Optimus's voice and not your own.
Voice is very loud if you want it to be, or quiet if you don't.
Overall, it is the best voice changing helmet I could find. It is sized to fit almost everyone on this planet (I wear a 7 7/8ths hat and it fit, barely, but it did fit fine none the less). And the voice quality/conversion is excellent.
